K-will Adds Burst Communications As Reseller and Systems Integrator in Western Region
TORRANCE, Calif. — Aug. 23, 2005 — K-WILL Corporation, a leading provider of professional evaluation and measurement equipment for video and audio quality, has named Burst Communications, Centennial, Colo., to resell K-WILL products to their customers as a part of Burst Communications video and audio solution packages in the Western region of the United States.
As a part of the agreement, Burst will handle K-WILL’s VP21H and QuMax-2000, designed to satisfy the needs and requirements for real-time baseband video and audio quality monitoring in the networks of broadcasters, CATV companies, satellite service providers and telecom carriers transmitting video.

K-WILL’s VP21H is a powerful double-stimulus picture quality evaluation system for detailed measurement and comparison of a reference source and comparison videos on a real-time and fully automated basis. The system provides more than 150,000 real-time measurements on each field of video and offers unique pixel-by-pixel comparison of SDI or HD-SDI video. The VP21H combines the two products recently referred to in the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) document J.144. The VP21H also was selected as a “Pick Hit” at NAB 2005 by Broadcast Engineering magazine.
K-WILL’s QuMax 2000 is a multi-module chassis that can take up to 12 inputs of analog, SDI or HD-SDI. It is ideal for automated quality control of on-air signals or a dubbing system, replacing the human eye. As it checks for errors such as blackouts, freeze frames, slice errors and audio mutes, it logs these events and gives them a time stamp of when they occurred. The QuMax 2000 is also a useful tool for monitoring video into a server as well as for any other applications that require several hours of quality control usually done with the naked eye.
