K-Will TSI-2000 MPEG-2 Video Quality Monitor Wins "Editor's Pick of Show" at NAB-2004

K-WILL Corporation's TSI-2000 was awarded the "Editor's Pick of Show" at this year's National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show. The award, sponsored by DIGITALTV Television Broadcast, was judged by a committee of industry experts representing all aspects of television production and engineering. The TSI-2000 and other products are featured in the magazine's June 2004 release.

The TSI-2000 is an industry leading MPEG-2 transport stream monitoring device designed to meet the need for real-time video quality monitoring in the networks of broadcasters, network operators, cable TV companies, satellite service providers, telecommunication companies transmitting video, post-production companies and equipment manufacturers.

K-WILL's TSI-2000 is the first device to provide centralized monitoring of video networks with automated, real-time assessment of the quality of the MPEG-2 video data stream. The TSI-2000 inspects the video and audio data in each sequence for errors, analyzing video at the elementary stream level. Using its proprietary "Video DNA" technology, K-WILL's new transport stream monitor is the only device that monitors actual video quality to the macro block level, in real-time on an MPEG-2 compressed video stream.

"We were honored to receive the Award from DIGITALTV Television Broadcast," Michael Franzi, vice president of sales & marketing, said. "The TSI-2000 offers video content and service providers a powerful tool to monitor system-wide video quality. Additionally, it will enable the monitoring of new services to enhance their competitive position."

Video image corruption can be introduced anywhere in the creation, archiving, transmission or broadcast process. The TSI-2000 offers the professional video industry the ability to place real-time video quality monitoring and feedback throughout their network or infrastructure.

K-WILL's TSI-2000 directly addresses the need and supports the growing requirement for a high-quality viewing experience throughout the video food chain. Content providers, network operators, and video service providers, are now able to guarantee their service to their customers in this increasingly competitive market. The TSI-2000 is a single rack mountable unit that can be easily integrated into a video network or system for monitoring applications. Alarms and reports conform to the simple network management protocol (SNMP) and can be remotely monitored over a LAN.

The TSI-2000 technology is also available in a multi-module chassis. The TMax-2000 permits monitoring of up to six independent MPEG-2 transport streams simultaneously. The TMax-2000 will be released in August 2004.

Availability and Pricing
The TSI-2000 and TMax-2000 are available direct from K-WILL and video product suppliers. The TSI-2000 system can be purchased for $17,000 USD. The cost of the TMax-2000 will range from $63,000 to the mid-80s, depending on the configuration and number of transport streams being monitored.
